Our Culture.

Just as we envisioned a different approach to specialty pharmacy, we dreamt up a different way to work. Blue Sky stands firm in its beliefs that bucking traditional notions reveals the very best solutions. Our growing team is highly collaborative, well-connected, diverse in both its professional backgrounds and its faces, and ultimately — highly committed to the service of our patients. We believe that fresh perspectives are invaluable, and relish the opportunity to welcome individuals from other industries to join our unique place in the world of pharmaceuticals.

Our strong foundation is built on teamwork, camaraderie, accountability, and shared vision of positively impacting our patients and our practices, while leaving a lasting impression on the pharmaceutical industry and all of humanity. A job at Blue Sky is more than just that. Here — you are not only encouraged, but expected, to have a voice and input on both your role and Blue Sky’s trajectory. In return, you’ll have the ability to grow professionally and be rewarded with industry-leading pay, ample paid time off to recharge, paid annual holidays, a robust benefits package, casual dress code, service days for local non-profits, and your choice of catered meals twice weekly. Our leadership team values work-life balance, meaning our hours are reasonable, you won’t work weekends, and we provide flexibility for all of life’s uncertainties.

Each of us is a blank canvas, and it is Blue Sky’s hope that the picture painted with your experience here will be stunning and long-lasting. Life is too short not to enjoy both your professional and personal pursuits. Come see what makes us different.

Our Vision

  • Blue Sky believes that everyone deserves access to the medications they need. That’s the mission Blue Sky was born to do. Our team works tirelessly each day to make this happen.
  • We put technology to work, creating portals for patients, physicians, payers, and pharmaceutical manufacturers to meet their unique, evolving needs.
  • We streamline, centralize, and personalize communication, better informing, supporting, and empowering patients in every step of their healthcare journey.

  • If we can't service a patient, we connect them with a pharmacy that can. We give support to organizations that bring sustainable healthcare to chronically underserved people in communities around the world.
  • We clear the clouds — to reveal a bright blue sky.

Registered Nurse

As one of Blue Sky’s registered nurses, you are right in the center of the action, responsible for heavy lifting (metaphorically speaking, of course) and very important patient care. Most days are a mix of these key tasks:

  • Initial Assessments: You are frontline support for our patients, many of whom have been suddenly thrust into a whole new world that also requires that they take new medication. You serve as an advisor, discussing everything from side effects, to current medications, and their concerns. You also provide instruction on taking or injecting the medication. Since we’re a mail order pharmacy, you’re also on the hook for gathering shipping info (either their home, or their doctor’s office).
  • Prior Authorizations and Status Checks: Some medications provided by Blue Sky need to go through a more rigorous approval process before insurance decides if they’ll cover the cost of the drug. Fun fact...most require step therapy or that patients try other drugs, first. Navigating insurance plans can be, well, confusing. But, not for you. You’ll review patient chart notes and get the right forms in front of the insurance company for approval. Follow up is key, and you’re responsible for this task from start to finish, even working with the doctor to develop a new game plan if needed.
  • Financial Assistance: So many patients have high deductible insurance plans, so when their benefits reset, copays for many of our medications skyrocket. Your job is to develop a cost savings plan, working directly with the drug manufacturer for cost-lowering options, and serving as a conduit to other companies who provide copay cards. Together, these tactics should bring down the cost of the drug. Should they need it, you get our patients into financial assistance programs.
  • Clinical Reassessments: Your patient relationships are strong—and they’re used to hearing from you. You talk every 90 days to ensure they’re being compliant on their medication and experiencing positive clinical results. On these phone calls, you’ll address any concerns they might have, and create important documentation of their experience on the medication.
  • And more.

Technician

Our lives are made easier, thanks to our technicians. This role requires lots of regular and important interaction with patients, but also allows you time to zen-out while performing important clerical tasks. Here’s a glimpse at your responsibilities:

  • Data Entry/Initial Intake Calls: You are the keeper of Blue Sky’s records. This requires you to review lots of data and enter prescription information into our pharmacy system. You call patients to review their insurance information, and fix any issues that may arise along the way.
  • Refills: You are always on the ball, and a very important cog in Blue Sky’s wheel. You process medications in our pharmacy system to acquire paid claims and deliver phone calls to patients to schedule monthly shipments of their refills.
Since we’re a mail order pharmacy, you’re also on the hook for gathering shipping info (either their home, or their doctor’s office).
  • Transfers: Despite being a large and successful business, Blue Sky is still growing—and currently has a limited amount of insurances we can fill. When we get a prescription that we cannot fill, you speak to a patient’s insurance company to learn who can fill it and immediately make a transfer to that pharmacy, meaning the patient is still able to get the medication quickly, efficiently, and safely.
  • Clinical Consults: This responsibility is very similar to providing an initial assessment, but it’s typically just you--the pharmacist. It’ll happen after patients start their new medication. They might have concerns, and if so, you’re on board to help them find answers and solutions.
  • Clinical Reassessments: Your patient relationships are strong—and they’re used to hearing from you. You talk every 90 days to ensure they’re being compliant on their medication and experiencing positive clinical results. Sales

Out and about in the medical community, you’re the “face” of Blue Sky, pitching doctors offices on the many benefits of referring patients to our specialty, mail-order pharmacy. We’re in the habit of going the extra mile for the doctors we work with, making their jobs much, much easier. Symbiotic is how we often describe the relationships between doctors, our patients, and us—and that is largely due to your work in the field.
